About Jess and Ben Travel

Jess and Ben Travel is a website run by us (Jess & Ben) that offers a unique insight into travelling in a modern world.

Here you will find all sorts of travel guides and things to do, ways to help budget and manage money while travelling.

We will also provide a range of information on managing relationships whilst you’re on the road. Whether this be as a couple, with friends or with the people back at home.

Our Goal for this website is to help you navigate the world, whether it’s finding a hike you’ve never done, a new restaurant down the street or how to plan a trip that is both relaxing and adrenaline pumping.

Meet Jess

I’m a creative soul who loves planning trips, itineraries and basically researching the hell out of everything before we get somewhere.

Something you’ll find out as you get to know us more (if you don’t already) is that I have multiple anaphylactic food allergies. This gives me a unique set of requirements when it comes to travelling and we hope that by using this platform, we can show you that it is possible to see all corners of the world and that you don’t have to be restricted by food.

My love of travel has been with me my entire life. I grew up in a yellow VW campervan with love, peace and harmony sprayed on the side and went on my first trip without parents at 16!

P.S I always have sunnies on hand

Meet Ben

I once thought the corporate life was for me. It is not.

In 2021 I completed my degree in economics and worked in finance for a short period of time. When I realised that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life in an office I made one of the most against the grain decisions I’ve ever made and came travelling.

I use the skills I learnt and my interest in managing finances to make our budgets work for us now and in the future as we build a life on the road.

Our website will teach you some of my tricks and tips as we share how we build wealth for the future now. Anyone else love a spreadsheet?

My first travelling experience was a 6-week backpacking adventure around Thailand with my university house mates. This really ignited my interest in travel and wanderlust to see the world. I also pick up physical things very quickly (much to Jess’s frustrations) so there is always a focus on getting crafty with workouts and keeping fit whilst on the road.

Meet Us

We started our travelling journey in October 2022. We met in the April of that year when the restaurant Ben worked at hired a girl called Jess.

Ben had his heart set on leaving the UK that September for a trip to the southern hemisphere. But there was a little spark between us that couldn’t be ignored. Jess had travelled some of Europe in small stints throughout her life and dreamed of going further afield. So, we took a chance.

4 months after we met, we hit confirm on a one-way plane ticket to Abu Dhabi for the 4th of October!

Everyone around us thought we were ridiculous.

Clearly we were right 😉

We founded this website because we wanted a place to share our experiences. But, we quickly realised that we could use Jess and Ben Travel to help other people navigate things that they didn’t think they could.

We grew up in a world where you go to school, then to university all to get a job where you work for 5 days a week until you can maybe afford to retire at 66.

We spoke to our friends and the overarching theme of these conversations was that no one really knows what they’re doing with their lives.

But what we all know is that the life other generations had, isn’t for this one.

Jess and Ben travel is going to help you tackle some of the questions you might have and inspire you to change not just your life but the lives of the others around you too.

We will inspire you to get up and get out of your hometown, explore different cultures and see this beautiful planet before it burns or floods and those things that existed a hundred years ago are no more.
